Litter Prevention in South Queensland

The Queensland Litter Prevention Alliance (QLPA) was established to develop and coordinate strategically planned litter prevention, education and management activities.

Conscious of the need to deploy best practice litter management techniques that deliver optimal environmental outcomes at reduced costs, government and non-government stakeholders have driven the development of the QLPA.

Benefits of Litter Management

Other anticipated benefits of a more integrated approach to litter management in Southern Queensland include:

• synergistically reducing program overlaps, and
• speaking with one voice to the people of Southern Queensland about litter prevention.

The geographical area of the QLPA (Southern Branch) covers the South Queensland area from Cooloongatta in the south to Bundaberg in the north and west to the Darling Downs.
